
At the practice of Dr Wendy Marshman, Ophthalmology we provide a range of ophthalmic services for children.
Our consulting rooms are child-friendly with TV, DVDs and toy room.
Our friendly and well qualified staff uses state-of-the-art equipment to deliver a range of services including extensive eye health checks, early detection and care of eye conditions, surgical procedures as determined at the time of appointment, child cataract surgery, detection and treatment of squints, chalazion and blocked tear ducts.
All consulting/surgery is performed under the expert and caring guidance of Dr Wendy Marshman MB BS, MD, FRANZCO. She offers extensive experience from many years in private practice and surgery.
Making an appointment
To make an appointment for your child please call 9804 3818 during the business hours of 8:30am - 5:00pm on Monday to Friday.
Our staff will offer to you the next available appointment time.
Surgical Procedures
Dr Marshman organizes elective surgery well in advance and in many cases, this is performed on a day stay basis. Please notify this office immediately of any change in plans or circumstances which may affect your surgery.
It should be noted that Dr Marshman operates privately at:
- Epworth Freemasons (East Melbourne)
- Cabrini Hospital (Malvern)
- Victoria Parade Surgery Centre (East Melbourne)
and publicly at:
- the Royal Children's Hospital
- the Royal Victorian Eye & Ear Hospital
Eye surgery is not without risks and complications, and Dr Marshman will always discuss these with you prior to your decision to proceed.

Do I need a referral?
If you would like to receive a Medicare rebate you need a referral from your general practitioner, specialist or optometrist. You will need to bring the referral with you to your appointment or the referral can be faxed to us on 9804 3828. Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months and referrals from your general practitoner or optometrist are valid for 12 months.
How do I make an appointment?
You can make an appointment by phoning us on 9804 3818 and our friendly reception staff will help make a time to see you.
How much will my appointment cost?
The cost of your appointment and resulting rebate can be discussed with you the day of your appointment.
Where do I park?
For your convenience free parking is available on Milton Parade for 1 and 2 hours. For most appointments this timeframe should be ample. There are also a limited number of parking bays available under the building (Level 2 and marked "Melbourne Eye Surgeons") however, please note that there is no lift access from these parks. A ramp is available for prams and wheelchairs at the Milton Parade entry. There is ½ hour parking directly in front of the building which can be used as a drop off/pick up point.
How will I keep my child entertained?
We have a very friendly waiting room for both children and parents/carers. A children’s play-room with TV, DVD and toys are all available for your use. There is also a TV in the waiting room for the comfort of parents/carers.
Will I need surgery?
This will be discussed at the time of your consultation.
What will my surgery cost?
If you require surgery the resulting costs and rebates will be discussed with you on the day of your consultation.
